HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO TO YOUTUBE/VIMEO

Step 1: Create your youtube or vimeo account

Step 2: Copy the video from your camera to your computer. Before you upload the video to YouTube, make any edits that you would like, and then make sure that it is converted into a proper format.  YouTube accepts the following formats:

• .AVI (Audio Video Interleaved)
• .3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project)
• .MOV (QuickTime Movie)
• .MP4 (Motion Picture Experts Group Part 14)
• .MPEG or .MPG (Motion Picture Experts Group)
• .FLV (Adobe Flash)
• .M4V (h.264)
• .WMV (Windows Media Video)
• .WEBM (HTML5)

Step 3: Upload the video. One you have the video in the correct format upload the video to youtube.com or vimeo.com and share the link with us in your submission. 

How to prepare your Minecraft world for submission

Mojang Support will give you extensive help but here are the main steps that you need to follow. Please be cautious with moving or modifying these files. It is advised that you to make a backup before you perform any actions in this folder. You can back up your files by copying them and storing them in another folder or on a USB drive.

Start by finding your saves folder. You can find all Minecraft folders, including the saves folder, by going in to the game launcher:

1. Open the Minecraft launcher and log in. Choose the option "Edit Profile" in the bottom left corner. Find the button named "Open Game Dir" located at the bottom right side of the Profile Editor. A new window will open containing your Minecraft folder. When you open the saves folder you will see all your saved worlds in different folders
2. Place the world folder(s) that you want to transfer onto a portable storage device, file sharing software or cloud computing service.
3. Once the files are ready to be transferred, place them in the new computer's saves folder and they will be available in your list of singleplayer worlds.

How to save your Minecraft World off your Minecraft Edu Hosted Server

Here are the steps to save the Minecraft Edu world for submission or sharing

These are the steps to follow if you are using a Minecraft Edu Hosted Server

Step 1: As a teacher/facilitator logon to the server control panel

www.hosting.teachergaming.com

Step 2:  Enter login details

Step 3:  Click on Manage my Minecraft Edu Hosted SErver

Step 4: Make a backup of your world

Put the mouse over the active button and it will give you the option to deactivate the world running on your server- i.e. makes a backup of the world:

A message will pop up asking you are you sure you want to deactivate this world?

Click OK

The sever will create a backup of your world now

Step 5: Click on My Inactive worlds from the Menu on LHS. This will display any worlds you have avaialble on the server that are inactive.

Step 6: Click on download and this will save a zipped copy of your world to your downloads folder.  When the world is downloaded please go to the download folder and rename the world specifically for your group. Now the world is ready to be shared with MindRising group and fellow Minecraft users. 

HOW TO VIDEO AN INTERVIEW

This is a great tutorial to help your students prepare and make their first interview.

Here are the main steps:

1. Prepare- establish why you want to perform the interview
2. Research- perform some research on the topic you want to cover in the interview. This is to ensure you get the most out of the person and not simply gather information you already know and is easily available. In the context of the GPO for example find out if they have any stories from 1916 that relate to the GPO.
3. Prepare the equipment- ensure you have your camera fully charged and working ready for the interview.
4. Prepare the location- do a dummy run through yourself to ensure the sound and light are adequate in the location you choose.
5. Questions- write up your list of questions and group the questions to help with the flow of the interview. If you go off topic but are covering interesting material, be adaptable. Go with the flow once it's relevant. Try to avoid interrupting the interviewee when they are answering questions.
6. The Interview- Sit or stand beside the camera so it looks like the interviewee is looking at the camera. Engage with the interviewee so they know you are interested in what they are saying. Nod, smile , be friendly.

To setup your Microsoft account

Step 1: Go to https://account.microsoft.com/about

Step 2: Click Create Account and enter the email address and psw you want to use for your microsoft login.

You are now setup to get access to SWAY and other Microsoft products.

Login to sway

Go to https://sway.com

Enter you Microsoft login details(as above)
